BR built many brake vans which were similar to the LNER design. However, only lot 2051 built between 1949 and 1950 were allocated to diagram 1/500. As I was scanning this collection when I heard of the death of Gerry Arundel it is dedicated to his memory. He loved LNER wagons, and this design had considerable and long-lasting influence on BR He gave excessively generously of his time to the HMRS and EM Gauge Soc.
