Disposal of fly ash from powerstations became big business during the 1960s, with MGR hoppers (later HAA) being used. After a conventional presflo was converted for this traffic (photos included - it is 10ft. 6in wheelbase) a further 84 vacuum braked ones followed on two lots and diagrams. These were generally larger. Note that the 12ft. 6in, and 18ft. 6in. over headstocks is confirmed as accurate for lot 3516 by members of the BR Wagon Measuring Group and is also on the diagram 1/279. This is despite most wagons appear to be branded with a 12ft wb (3657.6 mm). Many detail photographs, and the prototype . Detail collection.
A scale drawing of a CSV is in Monk-Steel, David (2011) Merry-go-round on the rails. HMRS publishing, Butterley Station, Derbys. 196 pages ISBN 978-0-902835-30-6.
