The LNER developed a new design of steel Plate wagon from an earlier NERly design. The LMS also built to a similar design. BR continued building these - at first all were unfitted but later the LNER vacuum brake rigging was used and later still a BR design of clasp brake was introduced and this was retrospectively fitted to many earlier wagons. The photographs show many different uses of these wagons as they were far more useful than just for carrying sheets of steel. Some departmental, including SATLINK versions are included. Parkside make 4 and 7mm kits for these and full number series and drawings have been published in Bartlett Et al (1985) and in the MRC album 1983.
