British Railways built 5 lots of diagram 2/682. These photographs are of the final two batches built in 1959 - 1960, some 85 wagons, which were vacuum piped. They were to carry large sheets of steel. The engineers obtained a number of them and removed the trestles. The last were used as Trestrols in 1984. In 4mm there is a kit of these wagons and a drawing was published in Bartlett et al. (1985) An Illustrated history of BR wagons pub. by OPC. NOTE – These photographs are low quality scans and may not print well. Do not order larger prints.
