In 1983 Distillers introduced a fleet of attractively painted 30 wagons that operated from East Anglia to Scotland, mainly for malting barley. They replaced the 4 wheel "Whisky covhops" http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/graincovhop As can be seen there were two distinctive ownership brandings, DISTILLERS COMPANY (CEREALS) LIMITED and SCOTTISH MALT DISTILLERS LIMITED.
The traffic ceased in 1991. Some of the complex operation and history is discussed in Ratcliffe DR (2012) Let the grain take the train. Rail Express no. 191 April, pp 14 - 21
