The MoD in various guises had a fleet of open wagons. These were built by Standard wagon in 1963. Sometimes it is suggested these were 2nd hand refurbished, but as they had ties between axleboxes on a clasp brake and self-contained buffers suggests they were new.
Other open and flat wagons were obtained 2nd hand from BR.
