There were only three E311 ferry tanks, originally numbered 501419
to 501421 (Tank Rentals fleet Nos. A379-A381). They worked for DCL from Salt End, Hull for acid and later acetone and Hexlene Glycol. Later 419 and 420 were used briefly for china clay slurry. They were broken up in 1985, with the barrels reused.
