BR allocated two diagrams to LMS design open merchandise with corrugated ends, with and without a tarpulin bar. Some were vacuum braked using the LMS clasp rigging, others were initially unfitted, being converted to vacuum brake in later 1950s. In later years the engineers used many of them. see also clay liners Not enough model kits exist of these!
