The LMS had a large fleet of Milk tank wagons. Unlike other Companies they had two different sizes, for 2000 and 3000 gallons. In the 1960s many of the smaller ones were painted in an attractive livery for St. Ivel. As milk tank wagons were considered to be non passenger coaching stock they were allocated to regions, so a number are shown with a W prefix because of relocation to the Western Region.
