BR built a standardised plough ballast van, based on the LMS design. The diagram 1/597 without doors represented only the first 4 wagons of lot 2186, the final diagram 598, although designated only to lot 3285 was more typical of most vans. Cambrian make a 4mm model kit.

One of the last Shark vans still, as at Nov. 2017, on the Nat. ( ex BR) Network is stored at Tavistock Jn Yard near Plymouth ..it has been stored/ disused for at least 5 years ..last used as a vehicle for Shunters to ride in during propelling moves of wagons that were loaded on the Cattewater line with scrap.
