The joint marketing company Shell Mex and British Petroleum introduced tank wagons for Liquified Petroleum Gas (Propane and Butane) in the 1963 and had several batches built for them upto 1967. From about 1980 the fleet was rebuilt with new suspension, buffer over-ride protection etc. Some were renumbered, others received frames from ordinary Class A and B tanks. Some of this variety is illustrated.
