Two prototype 50ton GLW Class B tank wagons built by Chas Roberts in 1972 for SMBP. Photographed when destined for Allied Steel and Wire at Cardiff, whom wanted the main frame. The yellow barrel end is unusual. Although it had a General repair in 1979 it appears not to have ever been repainted. IIRC the mileometer (distance counter) on the axlebox had only recorded c10,000 miles.
