The commonest grain wagon on BR were unfitted, 470 had welded construction. Most received roller bearing axleboxes from the early 1960s, but not all. Privately owned grain wagons replaced these during the 1970s and all were condemned by 1980. NOTE – These photographs are low quality scans and may not print well.
