Mineral wagons with 2 side doors and an end door built new between 1961 - 63 for British Railways with Vacuum brake. A 1,000 with ordinary VB were followed by 3950 with self-adjusting brake. Late in life some were given an air pipe, denoted by the TOPS code MDW. They continued in use in South Wales into 1993. Drawings and other details are in Larkin, David & Mann, Trevor (1983b) British Railways 21 ton Mineral Wagons. Model Railway Constructor vol. 50 (part 595) pp 637 - 641. and Bartlett et al 1985. A few were purchased for use as scrap carriers by Christie and Co. This was only for a short period of time. Accurascale produced a RTR model in 2021.
