British Railways built 1,950 wagons designated for carrying pipes and a further 50 for paper rolls, B484xxx series, which were later designated as Pipe. They inherited the design from the LNER but most had a modified body style and there were 3 distinct brake riggings. Lot 2004 B740000 - 299 and losts 2305, 2458 & 2545 B740600 - 1099 were built unfitted and listed for Vac brake conversion in December 1958. Parkside Dundas make 4 and 7mm models.
