Soon after nationalisation BR produced 425 shock open merchandise wagons with bodies of steel. Although clearly built to an LNER design the LNER built no similar wagons. By 1970 they were quite rare and these few photographs show them towards the end of their lives. NOTE – These photographs are low quality scans and may not print well. Do not order larger prints.
