Cowans Sheldon introduced a new yard crane design of 6 1/2T in 1935. Early in WW2 the LMS and SR were authorised to build many more, 4 for th SR and 49 for LMS. A 10T version was also built, 2 for the SR and 14 for the LMS. The photographs show both 6 1/2 and 10 ton versions in use on BR, some with their runners. and transfer to WR.
