The GWR had a comprehensive diagram book which were of more detail than those of other railways and usually reflected minor changes. They were well indexed by a alphabetic code for a type of wagon and number within that group for a distinct design of wagon.
There was a separate diagram book for Specially constructed wagons which were not numbered in the same way.
