Imperial Chemicals Industries (ICI) operated a diverse fleet of tank wagons for carrying many specialist chemicals to the European continent via the train ferries from Dover and Harwich. Most were condemned or only used on the British mainland after the Channel tunnel opened, as hazardous loads were not permitted
