The LMS inherited a Midland Railway brake van design and added duckets. Later a new long wheelbase version was produced with a deep verandah. This collection shows some of the variety to be seen on BR, with and without duckets, longer wheelbase, vac brake etc. The LMS introduced a final design of brake van from 1935 which were built into the BR period. The collection includes gauging vans, runners with iron ore tipplers and EMUs. 'Bertie' is included. Many RTR and kits exist, including by Slaters in 7mm. Kits in 4 and 7mm available from Parkside Dundas. I did an article on these in Modeller's Backtrack Feb/Mar 1994 - vol 3 no. 6 pp308 - 315 and have included colour scans of some photos published in black/white.
