Probably the first encounter a visitor has with the parrots of Oz is a brilliant flash of green and orange and blue going very fast and very close. I've never forgotten mine, some 20 years ago in Sydney. Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus) are very common in the well populated eastern coastal regions. Beautiful.
