Standard wagon designed a new box scrap wagon in 1978 which was used by the hire company Railease, more batches followed in 1982, using frames from British Steel hoppers, and more in 1982 and 1984 where new. In c1990 they were transferred to BR ownership and renumbered, followed by ownership by EWS who rebuilt them.
