Shell Mex and British Petroleum introduced a large fleet of anchor mounted 20ton capacity tank wagons in 1948 - 49. They were built by a number of manufacturers. Many were later lagged for heavy oils and had a side heating coil. Includes detailed photographs and examples in BR engineers and internal use and private internal use.
