The North Eastern Railway Wagon works at York is now closed, The development of York Central will see it removed with the rail access destroyed during April 2021 and destruction of the main building starting 2nd week of May concluded by 22 May 2021. The final user was Freightliner, who installed a new locomotive fuelling point earlier in 2012 and stored many redundant bogie hopper wagons there until April. Jarvis had operated the works during the mid 2000s. The works is easily viewed from the footbridge across the freight avoiding lines on Cinder Lane. The smaller building in the foreground was destroyed during 2012. Now to see the redevelopment of 'York Central'.
