The final BR Salmons, built between 1955 and 1961 were also the most numerous. They were mounted on an unusual, 8ft. wheelbase plate back bogie. EWS has remounted some on their standard short wheelbase bogie. The later Salmons were introduced with through air pipe and many Salmons received airbrakes from the 1970s. Some were used various conversions by the engineers - single line jib cranes, etc.
